Scope and Contents

Records consist of nine (9) hand-drawn plans and blueprints of structures (with accompanying maps) built by the Civilian Conservation Corps enrollees in Exeter, Rhode Island during the 1930s.

Plan drawing for Overlook Shelter, Beach Pond, Washington‐Kent County, RI. Department of the Interior – National Park Service Branch of Planning & State Cooperation, Recreational Demonstration Projects. Job No. 119, Plan No. RI‐27, Apr 10, 1936. On paper, approx. 36 x 26 inches, showing front and side elevations, floor plan with section detail, site location map in lower left corner, and identification label in lower right corner. Some damage to edges and extensive wrinkling.

Abstract

Includes nine (9) hand-drawn plans and blueprints of structures (with accompanying maps) built by the Civilian Conservation Corps enrollees in Exeter, Rhode Island during the 1930s.

Custodial History

Plans, maps and blueprints were created by the United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Rhode Island Office of Forests & Parks Cooperating from 1935-1938. Plans, maps and blueprints came into the custody of the Exeter Historical Association when they were found in a trash dumpster. Maps, plans and blueprints were donated to the Rhode Island State Archives by the Exeter Historical Association on May 30, 2014.
