Revolutionary War Privateers lists, 1774-1783

Record consists of two lists. The first is a Schedule of Privateers. This list includes: year ship became a privateer, name of vessel, type of vessel, gross weight in tons, number of guns, commander's name, source of information, number of men, name of owners, residence of owners. The second list is the Record of privateer captures. This list includes: date of capture, name of capture ship, type of vessel, name of the privateer, type of vessel,source information, commander of privateer, remarks about the capture. These lists were apparently compiled by Sidney s. Rider from records in the secretary of state's office. Date of compilation unknown.
