Scope and Contents
(1) Volume labeled Nurses. R.I.D.M. contains names & addresses of forty – three (43) women offering services with the First Regiment Rhode Island Detached Militia as nurses, cooks, etc, 1861
(2) Volume labeled Applications, Adj. Gens. Office dedicated to individuals offering to provide services to the military & to assist with three month, Ninth Regiment & three years Seventh Regiment, May, 1862. Second half of volume used a memorandum of daily office activity, July 23 – Sept. 14, 1868, including mailings, correspondence issued / received, etc.
(3) Volume labeled Application for Commissions, in Rhode Island Regiments June 1862 – May 1863 giving date & manner of request, by whom recommended, rank & unit desired & notation upon appointment approval.
