RG 034. Narragansett Bay Bridge Authority

The authority was created per 1948 Public Law Chapter 2152 “An Act Creating the Narragansett Bay Bridge Authority and Prescribing its Powers and Duties.” It was created as a body corporate and politic, was an agency of the state for the purposes of the act and consisted of nine members. The purpose of the authority was to finance and build the Newport bridge and acquire the Jamestown bridge.
