New Shoreham tax list: Function: To record the tax valuation of real and personal property of the residents of New Shoreham. Contents: Tax list includes following info: names of men whose property is rateable, poles not ratable, dwelling house, work houses and other buildings, grist mills, servants for life between ages of 14 and 45,tons of vessels upwards of ten tons, amount of all persons trading stock, money at interest, horses and mares from 2 to 4 years, horses and mares 4 years and up, steers and bulls 2 to 4 years, oxen 4 years and up,"heffors" 2 to 4 years old, cows and "heffors" of 3 years and up, sheep 1 yr and up, swine 6 months old and up,acres of pastorage and number of cattle it will keep, acres of tilled land, bushels of grain and corn of each sort, acres of mowing land, tons of English hay it yields in lyr, acres of salt marsh and what it yields in lyr.


Tax List for each town: Function: To record the tax valuation for each town in the Colony of RI. Contents: County news, town names within each county, acres of woodland in each town, value of woodlands in each town, sum total of rents at 20 to 15 years, sum total of ratales of each town, whole amount of each town, tolls, whole amount of each county, total valuation of the colony of RI.
