Biographical / Historical

Harry Curvin was the Speaker of the Rhode Island House of Representatives from 1941-1964. He was first elected to the House in 1930. He was born in Pawtucket on August 21, 1898 and died May 18, 1979 in Woburn, MA.

This series contains photographs of the Speaker of the Rhode Island General Assembly, House of Representatives, Harry F. Curvin. Images include other Rhode Island elected official and notables from the period 1951-1963.

Custodial History

The photographs were in the possession of John F. McBurney, a Senater in the Rhode Island General Assembly. Harry F. Curvin was a friend and mentor. Harry Curvin's widow, Josephine Curvin gave the photographs to John McBurney. The photographs were then passed on the Gregory McBurney.
