The Merci America Boxcar photograph album consists of fifty-two (52) black-and-white 8" x 10" photographs of the “Merci America” boxcar (aka the Gratitude Train) which came to Rhode Island on February 8, 1949. The train was a gift from France to the United States for aiding in famine relief in that country after World War II.
