Proposed Newport Military Installation records
The Military Installation records consist of eight (8) color ganache drawings by engraver Rochefontaine of proposed military installations or fortifications for Newport, Rhode Island. This series also includes a letter from Rochefontaine to Governor Fenner regarding the plans for the proposed fortifications dated August 16, 1794 (Boston).

State Board of Public Roads bridge plans and drawings
The State Board of Public Roads bridge plans and drawings consist primarily of drawings created by the Bridge Department of the State Board of Public Roads (now RIDOT). The bulk of the collection was created under the supervision of Clarence L. Hussey, Bridge Engineer and State Engineer of Rhode Island from 1912-1925.

The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority was created in 1954 by the Rhode Island General Assembly as a corporate body with authority to construct, acquire, maintain and operate bridge projects as defined by law. The collection consists of photographs, news clippings, plan drawings and related ephemera documenting building, opening and maintenance of both the Newport Bridge and the Mount Hope Bridge.
